Task
Abilia is a MedTech company that creates planners for individuals with cognitive disabilities. These planners are linked to the support person's account on the 'Group' webpage, where support staff can view and add activities to the user's calendar.
My task involved creating a solution for a new calendar function, with the goal of improving collaboration between support staff and users by making it easier to plan activities and track user participation.

Research
To better understand the needs of the users, I held several meetings with stakeholders to explore the what, why, and how of the function. I also received files containing user interviews, which provided valuable insights into why the function was necessary and how and when it would be used.
During my research, I discovered additional functions that users needed, which I incorporated into the project. These additions received a lot of positive feedback.
Challenges
While sketching, I quickly encountered a big challenge: prioritizing the content on the activity cards in the calendar when adding new features. As the calendar cards became smaller, some content had to be reduced.
To solve this, the UX lead and I created a new priority list for the updated functions, helping us determine which content should remain and what should be removed first as the cards resized.
Additionally, I created 'before' and 'after' versions of the cards, which change depending on whether an activity is upcoming or has already occurred, creating more white space and enhancing clarity.
Prototype
The function is not yet implemented, so I am unable to provide specific details or show the full prototype at this time.
However, I can discuss it further and explain the work I have done in an interview.
